Hey y'all! Sorry for not posting in so long! SO, I have been writing a short story, and I will share the first chapter. If y'all enjoy, let me know!
What if he never comes back?
What if she never comes back?
What if….
The day my parents dumped me and my sister Alice at my Nana’s house was the day I started making what-ifs. I have an entire notebook called my
What - if Notebook
Nana says its stupid and I should just focus on the “positives” but I can’t do it. Alice is the opposite. She has a notebook called her:
Gratefulness Notebook
In short, it makes me want to puke. Alice is, and always was, Nana’s favourite child. Alice thinks if I had a “Gratefulness Notebook” Nana would like me more. But nope. I will never do that. I will just stick with my What - ifs.
June 7
What if I get sent away to summer camp this summer and I can’t stay here.
What if Nana sends me to summer camp but never picks me up?
What if I never see Alice ever again?
What if..
Nana says the reason I am always so grumpy and negative is because I start and end my day with my What - ifs. But oh well. I guess I'm going to be grumpy for my entire life. At breakfast Nana tells Alice that this summer she is going to Drama Camp. Alice jumps up and squeals thanking Nana. Nana turns to me and tells me that I am going to Winderners Camp. A camp up north. Alice doesn’t care and runs to her room to call her friends and tell them she is going to Drama Camp with them. Nana clears the plates and tells me to go play with friends outside. No matter how many times I tell her that I have no friends to play with, she still tells me to go play with them. I exit the house and start another What - if list.
What if Alice forgets about me at camp and doesn’t care that Nana left me there to rot?
What if I am all alone at camp and Nana doesn’t let me bring my What-if journal?
What if..
The sun sets as I look up and I shudder. Time goes by fast when I am sitting and trying to think of What - ifs. But I also watch people walking by, so that takes up time too. I walk back to Nana’s and see Alice walking with her friends. Nana opens the front door and calls us in. We walk in and she gives us dinner. We eat quickly and go to bed. Tomorrow we leave for camp.
I hope you all enjoyed!
